Research area(s)

Dr Jun Hou's research mainly applies original and secondary data to investigate effective innovation strategies and policies in developing countries. Five years from now I expect to produce high impact articles publishing in leading journals and receive research funds to conduct research projects in similar field that will enrich the research profile of the department, as well as inform my teaching. My research will continue focusing on the topics including Economics of Innovation across developing countries; Multinationals’ innovation and technology spillovers, Outward FDI from emerging economies; South-South trade; employment and innovation; and China and UK innovation policy.

Research Interests

Dr Jun Hou's research interests cover topics across Innovation, International Business and Development. Especially on empirical works of innovation in emerging economies through outward FDI; knowledge diffusion through internationalisation, and Productivity in low-income countries.
