Summary
I am a Reader in Education in the Digital Economy and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
I have an interest in work-based and industry-relevant pedagogies, delivered through innovative curricula, such as Degree Apprenticeships. I am also interested in academic development and mentoring, especially for Education-focused academics.
My subject background is in the Social Sciences. I was trained as a Sociologist and I hold a PhD in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies from Edinburgh University. I have an interest in socio-economic analyses of digital technology innovation. I specialise in qualitative and experimental research methodologies and I am an experienced ethnographer.
Prior to joining Brunel, I was Senior Lecturer at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London. I have also worked at the London School of Economics & Political Science (Information Systems & Innovation), the University of Edinburgh (Business School) and the Open University (Economics).
