Struggling with the next step after graduation? Have a look at the following!:

For career planning and professional development, we are eligible to seek advice from the Professional Development Centre. Their services include referring students to career consultants, who help us apply for postgraduate study or doctoral research to further our studies.

The READY (Reach Every Ambition by Developing Yourself) employability and Brunel+ Programmes organised by the PDC are also useful in establishing our career path for first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students. In these schemes, we have a chance to build our LinkedIn profiles. Moreover, we are able to earn points after finishing each career development activity where you can use the points to collect awards at the end of the academic year.

In terms of financial benefits for PG students, there is a Brunel Graduate discount (15% discount on tuition fees) for students who complete their undergraduate studies at Brunel. In addition, students who have an unconditional offer to study a taught Masters programme with a First-Class honours degree classification from a UK University or an EU University are eligible for a 15% discount off tuition fees namely the Academic Excellence Scholarship.

For me, there is a scholarship named Dean’s International Scholarship for Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy (Physical Therapy) and Life Sciences provided by the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. A £2,000 fee waiver per academic year would be allocated to 160 international students (110 quotas for students from the Department of Health Sciences while 50 quotas for students from the Department of Life Sciences). It is helpful financial support for us.

The on-campus accommodation is a nice platform to meet new friends of similar age before entering societies. As postgraduate students, we are eligible to apply for the Isambard Complex for the hall of residence, where most of the mature students live. We can take advantage of the living proximity and have fun together.
