Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences

Our sports subjects are ranked in the World Top 100 and Top 10 in UK (QS World University Rankings 2017) based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research citations. Many of our students play sport competitively, with Brunel enjoying an excellent reputation for sporting success at university level, and running a competitive sports scholarships programme. We also have extensive research and links with sporting bodies and companies, which provide many excellent opportunities for placements.

Biomedical Sciences

Biomedical Sciences at Brunel offers the highest standard of teaching. Our teaching team recieved the Higher Education Academcy's Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence 2016, which recognises outstanding teamwork in teaching. We are an expanding and forward-looking division and promote a commitment and passion to science. We pursue excellence in both teaching and research, and believe that by linking the two we can provide the best education and experience for our students.

Psychology

Psychology at Brunel has an international reputation for research excellence, covering a range of topics and methodological approaches. With particular research strengths in cognitive neuroscience, cross-cultural psychology, evolutionary psychology, and health psychology we offer a range of innovative degree programmes. Many of these emphasise the everyday and real-life significance of psychology by encouraging you to explore the relationship between the practical and theoretical aspects of the subject, both through academic study and work placements.

Environmental Sciences

Environmental Sciences at Brunel won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 2011 for the translation of two decades of research into environmental policy. Every project we undertake is rooted in the belief that understanding environmental change is vital for human health and biodiversity. Brunel is recognised internationally for its research in environmental pollution and toxicological sciences, and benefits from strong international links with pharmaceutical industries and government authorities.

Life Sciences

Life Sciences at Brunel consists of the Division of Biosciences, Psychology and Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences. Our BSc in Life Sciences allows students to combine learning from these dynamic and exciting areas in a new and ground-breaking way to create their own interdisciplinary degrees.
