Allocation

3.1 Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria at the time of allocation will be considered for a tuition fee award using the information provided at the time of their course application only and cannot be considered should their circumstances change during the course of their studies. Awards cannot be backdated.

3.2 The College will review course applications on a regular basis throughout the year.

3.3 Tuition fee awards will be awarded provisionally on a first-come-first-served basis throughout the year, until all the awards have been allocated.

3.4 The College will be responsible for initiating and managing all communication with the successful applicants.

3.5 Tuition fee awards will be decided by the College, who will be responsible for producing a final list for eligible awardees.

3.6 The decision of the College is final. The University will not accept any appeals in respect of the decisions made by the College.

3.7 The award cannot be combined with any other University scholarship, bursary, discount or award, this includes the International Academic Excellence Scholarship, the International Bursary, Vice Chancellors Excellence Award and the Brunel Medical School International Scholarship, but excludes the 2% prompt payment discount, the Brunel Graduate Discount, the Brunel Family Discount and the Postgraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship. This will be deducted from the tuition fees remaining after the scholarship discount has been applied at enrolment.

3.8 If an applicant is eligible for more than one scholarship or discount, the College Specific Scholarship or International Scholarship will take precedence.

3.9 If an applicant is eligible for multiple awards, the most financially beneficial award will be awarded.

3.10 Awards are made for the September 2024 entry of the academic year 2024/25 only and cannot be deferred to other months or years of entry. Course applicants who intend to defer their studies from 2024/25 academic year to 2025/26 will lose any award they have been made.

Conditions of payment

The fee waiver will be added to the applicants record in September 2024, or just prior to Registration.

4.1 Awardees will be responsible for paying the remainder of their tuition fees after the award contribution is deducted from the total fees for each academic year.

  • The fee waiver will only be made providing the student is fully enrolled at the University on an undergraduate or postgraduate programme.
  • Payment in subsequent years will only be made providing the student progresses to the next level of study [payments will not be made during a repeating year until the student has satisfactorily progressed to the next level].

4.5 The award does not replace the deposit of £5,000. All awardees will need to pay the £5,000 deposit for their course in order to formally receive the award, an unconditional offer and a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS). The amount of the award will be deducted from the remaining fees.

4.6 The fee waiver will only be applied providing the student is fully enrolled at the University on a full time undergraduate or postgraduate programme of study which includes having had their qualifications and other documentation verified and checked, and then completing the University enrolment procedures. This includes holding the correct visa to study.

4.7 Payment in subsequent years will only be made providing the student progresses to the next level of Undergraduate study [the tuition fee discount will not be applied during a repeating year until the student has satisfactorily progressed to the next level].

4.8 Awardees who have already paid the full course fees can visit the Student Centre to request a refund of any over-payment; once they have met all conditions of their offer and enrolled onto their main course in person.
