Green hydrogen production from seawater
We are recruiting new Doctoral Researchers to our EPSRC funded Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) PhD studentships starting 1 October 2023. Applications are invited for the project Green hydrogen production from seawater
Successful applicants will receive an annual stipend (bursary) of approximately £19,668, including inner London weighting, plus payment of their full-time home tuition fees for a period of 42 months (3.5 years).
You should be eligible for home (UK) tuition fees there are a very limited number (no more than three) of studentships available to overseas applicants, including EU nationals, who meet the academic entry criteria including English Language proficiency.
You will join the internationally recognised researchers in the Department of Chemical Engineering research and PhD programmes | СʪÃÃÊÓƵ London
The Project
The project involves developing catalyst/bio-based catalyst for green hydrogen production directly from seawater along with understanding the electrochemical reactions using various in situ and ex situ characterisation techniques. The project would also involve developing new electrolysers for splitting seawater with minimum purification. The student will benefit by exploring a range of characterisation methods as well as develop knowledge in multidisciplinary fields of chemical/biochemical engineering, chemistry and material science. Besides, opportunities to present their work at national/international conferences and visits to world-leading collaborative academics both in UK and EEA will be gained.
Please contact Dr Abhishek Lahiri a³Ù Abhishek.Lahiri@brunel.ac.uk for an informal discussion about the studentships.
