Working with us

The research conducted in our group has been and can be applied to a wide range of industrial or other real-life problems, including but not limited to the automotive and aerospace sectors, oil and gas, machine design, biomedical engineering, civil infrastructures, geomechanics and earth science, electronics. We can help addressing open fundamental questions, including theoretical or computational issues and aspects related to experimental mechanics. We can also help industrial partners resolve problems that require specialist and possible new ad-hoc methods. We can develop new bespoke mathematical models, implement them in commercial or in-house software and validate them experimentally. We can also help with setting up state-of-the art experimental testing and interpret and analyse the results obtained.

Facilities

  • A wide range of static and dynamic testing machines.
  • DANTEC Dynamics Digital Image Correlation (DIC) 3D full-field system.
  • Large contrast frame on a strong floor with 500kN actuators.
  • Research software licenses of leading commercial software, including Abaqus and Ansys.
  • Access to state-of-the-art SEM, TEM and AFM for microscopy analysis via collaboration with the Brunel Experimental Techniques Centre (ETC)

We can provide our services through collaborations in research or consultancy projects. Please contact the group leader or one of the other group members if you are interested in collaborating with us, using the contact details in our profiles.
