Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng today used a Brunel Business School breakfast meeting to declare lift-off on the government’s new .
The government subsidised course is designed to help small and medium-sized companies upskill and grow.
Over croissants and coffee, neighbouring businesses dealing in events technology and software firms through to care homes and a swimming school shared their opportunities and challenges with the Business Secretary.
Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said: “UK businesses are global leaders in creativity and innovation, and Government is here to support SMEs to seize every opportunity to grow.
“Help to Grow: Management is a fantastic scheme to equip ambitious business leaders with the tools to take their business to the next level, helping create an even more high-productivity, high-wage economy we build back better from the pandemic.”
Brunel is one of several leading business schools across the country teaching the government-backed ‘executive development’ course, which is 90% subsidised by government and so only costs local businesses £750.
“Our academics at Brunel Business School played a significant role co-ordinating the programme, designing three of the programme’s twelve modules,” said course director Prof Ainurul Rosli. “We look forward to continuing being an essential stakeholder in supporting SME productivity in the UK."
There are 30,000 places available nationally on the course which aims to help business leaders and entrepreneurs develop their strategic skills, create jobs and boost performance while they manage their day job. Key modules cover financial management and digital adoption with participants backed to develop a tailored business growth plan.
