Brunel Entrepreneurial Network: Thinking innovatively for a better future

You are invited to join us for our next event, run as part of the Brunel Entrepreneurial Network. We are delighted to welcome Anastasia Georgievskaya, Peter Griffen and Joanna Power, who have recently been awarded a 2021/22 Young Innovator Award by Innovate UK and The Prince's Trust.

A fantastic achievement recognising their projects and businesses that tackle some of our biggest societal challenges. Anastasia, Peter and Joanna will talk about their journeys as entrepreneurs to date, what innovation means to them, and key lessons that they have learnt about innovation. About our speakers Anastasia Georgievskaya Anastasia’s business, Scentient, aims to create a device that emits scents in virtual reality.

It would be used to support training of military and emergency personnel. Anastasia graduated with a BSc Biomedical Sciences (Immunology) degree in 2020. Peter Griffen Peter’s innovation is a piece of furniture, but one with a healthy purpose: a fully-adjustable footstool for patients with lower leg oedema.

He created it in response to a request by staff at Royal Brompton Hospital in London, who felt the existing devices weren’t up to the job. Peter graduated with a BSc Product Design degree in 2021. Joanna Power Joanna co-founded Lylo Products, her creation of a washing machine that uses filtered shower water. The device’s removable water tank is placed on the shower floor during showering, then returned to its base for use in the laundry process. Joanna also graduated with a BSc Product Design degree Engineering in 2021.
