How has Brunel helped you grow personally and/or academically?
Brunel continually offers extra-curricular opportunities to further yourself academically. For example, I have just started taking part in the Ford Design Factory challenge, something that is going to help me get real-world experience. Brunel Volunteers also has a lot of opportunities to take part in.
How would you describe the Brunel community?
The Brunel community is welcoming and diverse. The campus is always busy and the wide range of societies and sports on offer means it is very easy to meet like-minded people. The wide range of continuous events run helps to keep everyone entertained.
Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?
I chose to come to Brunel due to the amazing facilities in the Design school. The course allows you to gain workshop experience, mixing theory with practical skills, something not all design courses offer at other universities. I also wanted to be able to experience being at a London university, but also have the comfort and convenience of a campus environment.
What are the most useful facilities at Brunel?
The 24hr library means you can access books, computing, and printing facilities at any time. I really like all the sports facilities at Brunel. The gym is affordable and as it is on campus, can easily be integrated to fit into spare time. I really like the facilities for my course. The year 1 design studio provides a pleasant place to continue with projects and collaborate with others on my course.
Do you commute or live on campus, can you tell us your experience either as a commuter student or living in halls?
I live on campus. I really enjoy living on campus as it allows me to feel a part of the community. It is very convenient, with everything you need close by. Not having to commute means I can fully take part in all campus events, and attend lots of social events.
